Chakra

The Universe and everything in it is made up of energy, as is the human body.  The 7 Chakras are spinning vortices of this energy that run up the center of the human body from the beginning of development in the womb. They are portals to our own spiritual, as well as physical experiences and can teach us much about our our own life experiences. Keeping them in balance is the most important  part of ensuring our own wellbeing. We all have the inner knowledge that leads to a greater understanding of SELF.

THE 7 CHAKRAS:

1- Root Chakra:

Color: RED

Location: Base of spine flowing up through navel

The Root Chakra, called Muladhara in Sanskrit.  Also known as base or 1st chakra begins at the base of the spine and is the center of grounding.  When in a meditation, seated position this chakra is sitting against the earth and supports the being both energetically and physically.  It promotes a sense of security by acting as a bridge between body and earth. When everything is in harmony with the Root Chakra you will feel a sense of contentment and security concerning survival, safety, money and shelter.

However, it is not uncommon for this chakra to be unbalanced.  If OVERACTIVE, you may experience ANXIETY, and feelings of uncertainty about your security.  If UNDERACTIVE, you may drift from reality and daydream a lot, finding it hard to concentrate and function in reality.

How to balance the Root Chakra:

Spend time in nature and get physical exercise

Utilize the energy of the Chakra and make sure your security needs are met

Practice meditation, and/or prayer and visualization methods
